LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United will dump the inconsistent Nani to make room for Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder, according reports on Friday.
Sneijder has fallen out of favour at Inter and has not featured for the Serie A side since September, following a dispute over his demanding weekly wages.
Sir Alex Ferguson has always been a favorite of the Dutchman and has tried numerous times to persuade the midfield playmaker to join the Old Trafford club.
His wage demands saw a close move collapsed in 2011, but he’s again on the radar and Manchester United are apparently ready to take another stab at bringing in him again.
ESPNSoccernet is reporting that the Red Devils are monitoring Sneijder’s situation at Inter Milan and are even willing to use Portuguese winger Nani in a bid to strenghten the central area of their midfield.
Nani, who is currently out because of injury, has been a huge disappointment so far this season – with several reports suggesting that the manager no longer has any faith in him.
He was linked with a summer move, but the deal fell through after the buying club refused to pay his high wage demands.
He has vowed to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford, but situations such as this never truly come through and the players, more times than less, are left frustrated.
