MADRID (Sporting Alert) – Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho and star player Cristiano Ronaldo were involved in a locker room bust-up, a media report is claiming.
According to Sportyou, Mouronho and Ronaldo got into a heated argument after the player felt his coach went too far with his constant criticisms during the Spanish Cup 2-0 win over Valencia on Tuesday night.
The report also claims that the former Manchester United forward was angry at Mouronho for his constant “berating of him” with the row spreading as far as the team’s locker room.
Real Madrid have been calling the reports as just media rumors, despite the media claiming that the club’s president Florentino Perez was called on to intervene, along with several players.
The defending Spanish league champions have been hitting the headlines in recent months, following on and off the field speculations, which are also connecting to the possibilities of Mourinho and Ronaldo leaving the club.
It was only recently that Mourinho and Sergio Ramos were reportedly in a bust-up, while the coach’s decision to leave out first choice goalkeeper Iker Casillas from the line-up, didn’t sit well with some of the Santiago Bernabeu hierarchy.
Real Madrid are 18 points behind leaders Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga standings and have apparently given up on the chase.
