(Sporting Alert) — Cristiano Ronaldo starts, but there is no Gareth Bale for Real Madrid in tonight’s Spanish La Liga clash with Real Valladolid at Nuevo Jose Zorilla Stadium.
Real Madrid are sitting third in the La Liga standings with 83 points, five less than leaders Atletico Madrid, but with a game in hand.
Bale misses the clash because of a knock manager Carlo Ancelotti had revealed.
“Bale has taken a knock, and they are not available,” Ancelotti said.
However, Ronaldo, despite limited participation in training on Tuesday, starts upfront alongside Karim Benzema.
“Cristiano is fine,” Ancelotti said. “He was a bit tired, so only did part of the session, but he is available and will play.”
Meanwhile, Luka Modric also starts and plays in midfield with Xabi Alonso, Isco and Angel di Maria.
Sami Khedira, who returns to full training recently is on the bench.
Real Madrid: Casillas, Coentrao, Nacho, Pepe, Ramos, Xabi Alonso, Di Maria, Isco, Modric, Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real Valladolid: Jaime, Bergdich, Mitrovic, Pena, Rukavina, Valiente, Oscar Gonzalez, Perez, Rubio, Guerra, Jeffren Suarez.
