MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United welcome back Wayne Rooney from injury for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League clash with manager-less QPR at Old Trafford.
Rooney missed the Premier League defeat to Norwich City last week and midweek Champions League defeat to Galatasaray following a bout of tonsillitis.
However, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that the England international is fit and ready to return to regular duties at his press conference on Friday morning.
Rooney has been in good form so far this season, scoring seven goals and dishing out seven assists from his 17 appearances on the term.
Expected back too are the first team members, such as Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Robin van Persie, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, who all missed the game against Galatasaray on Tuesday.
QPR could enter the game without a manager following the sacking of Mark Hughes on Friday, although reports are claiming that former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp could be appointed on Friday night.
