Rooney starts for Manchester United v West Ham – FA Cup

MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Wayne Rooney has returned to the starting line-up for Manchester United in this evening English FA Cup replay tie with West Ham at Old Trafford.

Rooney has been out since picking up an injury during a Christmas Day training session, but has returned to partner Javier Hernandez in the forward line.

Also back are Nani and Anderson, with Antonio Valencia and Ryan Giggs also starting.

Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are the starting center backs, with Rio Ferdinand on the bench.

Paul Scholes, Robin van Persie and Michael also start on the bench.

West Ham are without with Joe Cole, Kevin Nolan, Matt Jarvis and Jack Collison in a game that is set to be too difficult for the visitors.
