MNCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie have been restored to the Manchester United side for this evening’s Barclays Premier League clash against Queen’s Park Rangers at Old Trafford.
The pair missed the Champions League midweek defeat in Turkey, while Rooney was also absent for the shocking defeat to Norwich last week.
Danny Welbeck is also a starter, with Darren Fletcher and Paul Scholes in the midfield. Michael Carrick has been left out completely.
David de Gea returns to the Manchester United side but is on the bench, as Anders Lindegaard, who had a solid outing against Galatasaray in midweek continues in goal.
Meanwhile, Kieron Dyer makes his first QPR start since August 2011, while Stephane Mbia returns from suspension, as stand in bosses Mark Bowen and Eddie Niedzwiecki make five changes.
QPR fired Mark Hughes on Friday with Harry Redknapp being named the new boss.
