(Sporting Alert) — Star guard and the reigning MVP Derrick Rose will play for the Chicago Bulls against the Miami Heat on Thursday night at the United Center.
| TV: TNT at 8:00 PM ET
Rose, who only recently returned to the line-up from injury, had been a game time decision for the Chicago Bulls after picking up a right ankle injury.
He missed Tuesday night’s win over the New York Knicks with the sprained ankle he suffered in the defeat to New York on Sunday at the Garden.
However, he practiced on Wednesday and has made huge progressions.
“He’s made great progress with all his stuff, and he’s feeling good,” Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Wednesday.
“It was a freaky thing that happened to him, and he’s fine now.”
Miami Heat entered the contest on the back of a 115-107 defeat to the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night and the FLorida team, which has dropped two of it last three at home is hoping to avenged the 106-102 loss they suffered in the last meeting last month.
Even if Rose, who missed the last clash between the two teams doesn’t play, the Miami Heat is expecting a tough game.
LeBron James said: “Take Rose off that team and they’re still better than a lot of teams in the NBA.
“And you add him and they’re very special.”
Chris Bosh added: “They have one of those defenses that keep you in games. They have a really talented, very good team, and they have guys who have stepped up.
“At first we were surprised (how good the Bulls were without Rose), but after a while, it was all the same thing, you kind of expect them to play well. Whether he’s in or not, they’re going to be a tough team.
