Meanwhile, the outcome of the contest could very well come down to which quarterback can deliver in the close situations, especially when it gets into the fourth quarter.
Both the 49ers and the Seahawks have top class quarterbacks and a lot of the attention is expected to be on these ball distributors.
Seattle’s Russell Wilson and San Francisco’s Colin Kaepernick have both posted impressive figures so far this season, but according to ESPN Stats and Info, the 49ers’ QB has been much better in the closing parts of games.
Both players are on teams with 2-4 records this season, but Wilson (62.3) has a slightly better total quarterback rating than Kaepernick (60.3).
However, the San Francisco QB has an 85.8 QBR in the fourth quarter, while his Seattle counterpart has a QBR of 48.5.
At the same time, Kaepernick has not enjoyed his five appearances against the Seahawks and the visitors will be targeting him again at Levi’s Stadium.
In five previous career starts against Seattle, he has a QBR of just 18.3, ESPN Stats and Info is reporting.
So far this season, Kaepernick has passed for 1329 yards and six touchdowns, with five interceptions.
Against the Arizona Cardinals, he threw a career-worst four interceptions and finished with 9 for 19 on passes for 67 yards, with a QBR of 16.7.
Wilson, in the meantime, has thrown for 1433 yards and seven touchdowns.
