DURHAM, N.C. (Sporting Alert) Seth Curry scored 31 points on 12-of-18 shooting No. 1 Duke cruised to a 90-77 victory over Santa Clara in college basketball action on Saturday.

Mason Plumlee added 22 points 13 rebounds and five assists in the win for the Duke Blue Devils (12-0) to remain undefeated so far this season.

”Our team did a great job of executing in the halfcourt,” Curry said. ”Our big guys set great screens, and the few times we got in transition, Quinn kept his head up and found me for some open shots.

“I was able to score from behind the line and attacking the rim, so I was able to mix it up a little bit.”

Kevin Foster was the top contributor for Santa Clara Broncos, who were outscored 52-41 in the second half of the game.

Quinn Cook added 15 points, five assists and five rebounds for Duke, which took a narrow 38-36 lead at half-time before taking over the contest after the interval.

”I thought we withstood the first 4 minutes (of the half) better than anticipated,” said Santa Clara coach Kerry Keating after seeing the same slip away from his team in the second half.

”They made their charge, we knew it was going to come and we couldn’t stop it, and we had to fight back the rest of the way.”

Ryan Kelly chipped in with a workmanlike double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Blue Devils, who were playing for the first time in nine days.

Duke finished with 50-percent shooting from 3-point range on 7-of-14, while going 31-of-63 for 49 percent shooting from the field.

Evan Roquemore finished with 15 points and six rebounds, while Marc Trasolini and Raymond Cowels III each added 10 points for Broncos (11-3).

Duke will next be at Davidson on Jan. 2, before hosting Wake Forest three days later.

Santa Clara will travel to face San Francisco on Jan 2.
