MILAN (Sporting Alert) — Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder is more likely to join Manchester United over Paris Saint-Germain Football Club, the player’s agent Oscar Damiani said.
Sneijder, according to Damiani, will certainly leave Inter Milan in the next transfer window, following a contract dispute, which saw the Dutchman being frozen out of the team line-up since September and the agent believes Manchester United would be his likely destination.
“His adventure at Inter is now nearing completion, in January they will find a solution that suits both the club and the player,” Damiani according to (TRIBALFOOTBALL.COM).
“I think that his next target is the Premier League, at a club like Manchester United. I do not think the solution is Paris Saint-Germain.”
Andrea Stramaccioni has not used Sneijder since September, after he returned from a two month spell on the sideline because of an injury.
The midfielder refuses to sign a new deal that would see him taking a massive pay cut and Inter Milan heads have backed Stramaccioni’s decision to leave the player out.
It is still left to be seen as to where Sneijder would actually fit in at Manchester United, should this deal go through – at the likes of Tom Cleverley and Anderson are currently playing well at the moment.
Anderson is out with a hamstring injury but is due back next month.
Meanwhile, the playing time of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs have been cut significantly this term and there are signs that this will be the last stint for the veteran pair.
Sneijder has been long linked to fill one of those gaps and Sir Alex Ferguson could make a move for him.
