LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United are reportedly ready to make a bid for Internacional striker Leandro Damiao, reports in Italy are saying.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Brazilian, who has been on the shortlist of Tottenham for the past 12 months, has now received interested from Manchester United, who are believed to be ready to make a £25million offer for the frontman.
The 22-year-old was recently quoted as saying to TVCOM Esportes: “My career plan right now is to stay at Internacional.
“If I do leave, then I hope it will be for a big club like my current club Internacional – a club which is always fighting for titles.”
He did added though that he was in no hurry to leave his current side, with his contract with Internacional still good until 2016.
It is believed that Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to Damiao to his side – seeing that striker Dimitar Berbatov is all set the leave at the end of the season.
