LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has put his faith in the players that won him the FA Cup title on Saturday after naming the same starting team for tonight’s vital English Premier League clash with Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.
Wigan are sitting 18th in the EPL standings and need a win to save them from the drop zone for next season.
Callum McManaman, who had an impressive game against Manchester City in the FA Cup final, James McCarthy, Emmerson Boyce, Paul Scharner and Shaun Maloney all kept their places, with Wembley hero Ben Watson starting on the bench again.
Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger made one change to his side with defender Kieran Gibbs coming into the starting team for Nacho Monreal at left-back.
Wojciech Szczesny remains in goal so fit again Lukasz Fabianski starts on the bench. Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski, Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky all start as well, while captain Thomas Vermaelen continues to be on the bench with Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker paired up once again.
Jack Wilshere, Gervinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all on the bench.
