MANSFIELD (Sporting Alert) Liverpool FC new recruit Daniel Sturridge will make his debut for the club today in today’s English FA Cup third-round clash with Mansfield at Field Mill Ground.

Sturridge made the move from Chelsea last week and is hoping for an impact on his debut appearance.

The striker is one of eight changes made by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers with the likes of Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling all left out.

Jamie Carragher, Sebastian Coates, Andre Wisdom and Jack Robinson make up the backline, with Brad Jones starting in goal.

While Gerrard, as expected has been left out altogether, Suarez and Sterling is on the bench and is there alongside Jordan Henderson, Martin Skrtel and John Flanagan.

Lucas, Joe Allen, Jonjo Shelvey and Stewart Downing all start.

Mansfield will be looking for a massive upset against a Liverpool team that has been playing well in recent weeks.

Goalkeeper Alan Marriott is pumped for the game and is ready to face the likes of Suarez and Sturridge.

Top scorer Matt Green will lead the Mansfield attack and John Barnes is hoping to see him score a goal.
