SWANSEA (Sporting Alert) — England striker Daniel Sturridge has beaten the fitness race and starts for Liverpool for tonight’s English Premier League (EPL) clash with Swansea City at The Liberty Stadium.
Sturridge has been in good form for Liverpool this season, scoring in all the three opening matches thus far, and his fitness was a massive one for the Reds, who have won all three of their games in the new campaign.
Also starting for Brendan Rodgers’ side are deadline day signings Victor Moses and Mamadou Sakho, with Daniel Agger out with an injury and Iago Aspas dropping to the bench.
Defender Kolo Toure also starts on the bench.
Meanwhile, Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has decided to hand Nathan Dyer and Leon Britton starting places into his side, while the injured Jose Canas and Pablo Hernandez misses out.
Jonjo Shelvey also starts against his former club and he admits that he’s looking forward to the game.
