TEAM NEWS: Aston Villa v Tottenham Spurs Line-ups

VILLA PARK (Sporting Alert) Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has decided to make three changes from the team that was hammered 8-0 at Chelsea FC over the weekend for today’s Premier League clash with Tottenham.

Joe Bennett, Karim El Ahmadi and Fabian Delph were all named in the starting line-up today, but there was still no place for forward Darren Bent, who according to all reports will leave the club in the January transfer window.

Lambert will be hoping for a better performance from his team, which he said “didn’t show up” against Chelsea FC on Sunday.

“That one is gone and we can’t do anything to change,” Aston Villa told Sky Sports before the game.

The manager did, however, kept the back three that suffered the thrashing at Stamford Bridge.

Forward Christian Benteke has been tipped to score the opener for Aston Villa this afternoon.

Meanwhile Tottenham have recalled William Gallas and Kyle Naughton in defence, while Gareth Bale, Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor all started.

Kyle Walker, Moussa Dembele, Sandro, and Aaron Lennon, also start, with Michael Dawson, Scott Parker and Gylfi Sigurdsson all on the substitute bench.

Tottenham were held 0-0 at White Hart Lane on Saturday by Stoke and will seek a better result at Villa Park.
