TEAM NEWS: Everton vs Liverpool – Fellaini starts

LIVERPOOL (Sporting Alert) — Marouane Fellaini has recovered from an injury and starts for Everton in today’s Merseyside derby against Liverpool at Goodison Park.

Seamus Coleman retains his place at right back, but Sylvain Distin is preferred to John Heitinga in the heart of the defence.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Brad Jones keeps his place between the posts, although regular first choice Pepe Reina has returned from a hamstring injury.

Glen Johnson, who sustained an injury to his back in the Europa League in midweek is replaced at left-back by Jose Enrique, while teenagers, Raheem Sterling, Andre Wisdom and Suso all made the starting XI.

Stewart Downing, who scored the winner in Europa League action in the week starts on the bench.

The 219th Merseyside derby sees Liverpool come into the derby with successive 1-0 wins over Reading and Anzhi Makhachkala. The Reds are 7/1 to win 1-0 with 2-0 boosted from 11/1 to 14/1. Raheem Sterling has caught the eye recently and it’s 33/1 for him to net first and either Liverpool to win 1-0 or 2-1. The influential Marouane Fellaini returns and is 45/1 to score first and Everton to win 1-0. A win for either team is 13/8 with the draw 23/10.
