BARCELONA (Sporting Alert) — Did you ask if Radamel Falcao will start tonight? Well, the answer to that question is yes, as the Columbian striker and Atlético Madrid travel to take on Lionel Messi and leaders Barcelona.
Falcao was a major doubt for Atlético after he picked up an injury on Thursday and was limited in practice.
However, after much speculation, the forward will join his teammates in a search for points against a very dominant Barcelona side at Camp Nou.
Diego Costa will be the strike partner of Falcao, while Koke, Arda Turan and captain Gabi, who is confident his team can upset the home side, all start the game as well.
It is expected to be a very busy night for Atlético Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, but the on loan Chelsea youngster is ready for the challenge.
Meanwhile, David Villa remains on the bench for Barcelona, despite an impressive showing in Cup action in midweek.
The Spanish international was tipped to start alongside Messi and Pedro, but instead manager Tito Vilanova has decided to go with Chile international Alexis Sánchez.
Victor Valdés returns in goal, with Xavi, Andrés Iniesta and Sergio Busquets taking up their places in midfield.
Adriano also returns at full-back and Jordi Alba also started.
