MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Manager Roberto Mancini has named striker Carlos Tevez amongst the substitutes for Manchester City’s Premier League game with Chelsea tonight at the Etihad Stadium.
Tevez has not featured for Manchester City since his burst up with Mancini, who had vowed the player would never feature for the club again. Should the Argentinian plays tonight, it would be his first appearance for the club in six months.
Manchester City are four points behind Manchester United and will need to win tonight to keep the pressure on the defending champions, which defeated Wolves 5-0 in their game over the weekend.
Chelsea, in the meantime, still have their eyes well set on finishing in the top three for an automatic Champions League slot and many believes that the Blues’ current form makes them a good pick for victory tonight.
Chelsea are currently in fifth place in the league standings on 49 points. Fernando Torres, Frank Lampard are amongst the starters, while John Terry misses out and Didier Drogba is on the bench.
In other games tonight, Tottenham hosts Stoke City, Arsenal will face Everton and QPR take on Liverpool.
