Meanwhile, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, No. 1 and defending champion Alabama will aim to lift the SEC title when the Crimson Tide travel to face-off with No. 4 Georgia.

These two programs last met in the 2017 national championship nearly 11 months ago with Alabama rallying to win 26-23 in overtime.

Alabama coach Nick Saban said about the Bulldogs heading into the game: “Georgia is one of the most complete teams in the country.

“They haven’t really like dramatically changed. I think they’ve made a lot of improvement. I think their efficiency on offense has been very good all year long.

“Defensively, their scheme has not changed a lot, but some of their players have. They still have really, really good players and they play well together. They’re well coached. Nothing easy against them.”

Georgia coach Kirby Smart believes both sides have evenly matched options all over the park but has given Alabama the edge on defense.

“Quarterback play and third-down conversions and protecting the ball and not turning the ball over a lot. Those are similarities,” Smart said.

“Both got good set of backs, good set of receivers. Both teams are scoring points.

“The biggest difference is they play better defense, obviously, than we have.”

Live broadcasting coverage will be CBS, starting at 4:00 pm ET.

Meanwhile, No. 6 Ohio State, fresh off its dominating win over Michigan last week, will take on No. 21 Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game at Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis.

This conference title game on Saturday night will be live on FOX and streamed live on FoxSportsGo.com at 8 p.m. ET.
