Tony Romo throws three TDs as Cowboys defeated Giants, 24-17

East Rutherford, NJ (Sporting Alert) – Tony Romo threw three touchdowns passes as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the New York Giants, 24-17, in the opening game of the 2012 NFL season on Wednesday night.

Romo, who completed 22 of his 29 passes attempts on the night, also threw for 307 yards.

The game began very slowly with both teams playing tight defense as the first half ended 7-3 in favor of the Cowboys.

Romo got the ball rolling in the second quarter with a pass to Kevin Ogletree down the middle for a 10 yard touchdown.

Ogletree was found again by Romo for a 40 yard gain, as the traveling Cowboys celebrated another time.

Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 10 yards and the defending champions cut the score, but were unable to withstand the pressure and offensive power of Dallas, which scored again just under six-minutes through Miles Austin.

Eli Manning completed 21 of 32 passes for 213 yards, while throwing for a touchdown pass for New York.
