MIAMI, FL —— Georgia stayed at No. 1 as the top four in the fourth College Football Playoff Rankings this season held firm on Tuesday night. LSU moved up one spot to No. 5 and USC also inched up a spot to No. 6 ahead of some key games in the coming weeks.
Despite the top four teams struggling to secure wins last weekend, the CFP committee wasn’t tempted to make changes at the top, but we saw some slips and slides in the middle and at the end of the rankings.
Tennessee, which was ranked No. 5 last week, slumped five spots to No. 10 after the 63-38 blowout loss to South Carolina over the weekend, while Clemson (10-1) remains in the runnings at No. 8 just in case the top teams slip up.
Alabama is at No. 7, while Oregon sits at No. 9.
Meanwhile, at No. 16 is Florida State, which moves up three places tonight, followed by North Carolina, down four spots, UCLA, Tulane, and Ole Miss.
The last five teams completing the Top 25 are No. 21 Oregon State, UCF, Texas, Cincinnati, and Louisville.
Dropping from the rankings this week are Oklahoma State (22) and NC State (24).
