Torres benched: Stoke v Chelsea

(Sporting Alert) — Fernando Torres returns to the substitutes bench for Chelsea as they take on a tough Stoke City team in the Barclays Premier League at Britannia Stadium.

Torres was jeered at during Chelsea’s 2-0 League Cup defeat against Swansea in midweek, following a poor performance and manager Rafa Benitez has decided to start with Demba Ba this team.

Captain and leading center-back John Terry is back in the squad, but only start the game on the bench, with Oscar and Marko Marin both start as subs as well.

Frank Lampard has been recalled to the starting team and he starts alongside Eden Hazard Ramires and Juan Mata.

Kenwyne Jones will lead the attack for Stoke, as Charlie Adam, Jon Walters, Glenn Whelan, Steven N’Zonzi and Matthew Etherington also start.

Ryan Shawcross and Robert Huth lead the backline for the Tony Pulis’ side.
