(Sporting Alert) — Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has left Fernando Torres out of his starting line-up and has decided to start without a striker altogether for the Champions League clash against Juventus.
Torres has scored just one goal in his last seven games in all competition and Di Matteo has decided to drop the front man and essentially named five defenders and five midfielders in his side.
Well some are already making that call.
Juan Mata, from the team report will occupy that central role, although it is highly possible that he will move around, while leaves that slot open for the likes of Eden Hazard and Oscar to move into.
Juventus have a magnificent midfield and with Andrea Pirlo returning to join the likes of Arturo Vidal and Kwadwo Asamoah – this could be a tough night for Chelsea.
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba starts on the bench.
