(Sporting Alert) — Rafael Benitez has named both Marko Marin and Oscar in his Chelsea FC midfield in tonight’s Capital One League Cup quarter finals clash with Leeds United at Elland Road.
Also with John Terry not playing today, Branislav Ivanović and David Luiz start at central defence, while Fernando Torres leads the strike force, while Frank Lampard captains the side.
Chelsea are without midfielder Gary Cahill, John Obi Mikel and Ramires for the game.
Ashley Cole, Eden Hazard and Lucas Piazon are all amongst the substitutes.
Meanwhile, Jason Pearce has replaced Alan Tate in defence for Leeds United as Neil Warnock made three changes to their side that beat Ipswich 2-0 on Saturday.
The last time Chelsea and Leeds met, the latter were packing their bags and heading out of the Premier League in 2004.
Chelsea came away 1-0 winners at Stamford Bridge on the date. Any winning score today would work for Benitez as he looks to get past the disappointing 1-0 defeat to Corinthians in the Club World Cup on Sunday.
