Van Persie, Rooney start together for Manchester United against Cluj

(Sporting Alert) — As anticipated, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie start a game together for the first time for Manchester United in tonight’s Champions League game against CFR Cluj in a Group H fixture.

Also in the Manchester United starting line-up is striker Javier Hernandez as manager Sir Alex Ferguson looks to add another win to the one his team picked up in Week 1 against Galatasaray at Old Trafford.

Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans both start in central defence for the Barclays Premier League side which is with leading center-back and captain Nemanja Vidic, who is out for eight-weeks.

Also starting for United are Tom Cleverley and Anderson, with David De Gea starting on the bench.

Shinji Kagawa starts on the bench tonight, alongside Nani, Nick Powell, and Danny Welbeck.

CFR Cluj-Napoca: Mario Felgueiras, Sepsi, Cadu, Rada, Ivo Pinto, Sougou, Aguirregaray, Muresan, Camora, Bastos, Kapetanos. Subs: Stancioiu, Diogo Valente, Nicoara, Maftei, Piccolo, Bjelanovic, Luis Alberto.
