Van Persie starts for Manchester United against Arsenal: Live

MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Robin van Persie, as expected, starts for Manchester United against former club Arsenal today in the Barclays Premier League.

Watch Live: Manchester United vs Arsenal on ESPN and

Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans return to lead the backline, alongside Patrice Evra, while Tom Cleverley and Michael Carrick are in the middle.

Anderson, Javier Hernandez, Nani and Paul Scholes are all amongst the substitute for Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Arsenal also named the same team that squeezed out a 1-0 victory over QPR last week, which means that England attacker Theo Walcott, despite his outstanding performance against Reading in the Capital One Cup comeback, starts on the bench again.

Amongst the starters are Jack Wilshere, who made an impressive return to first team football last, following a long layoff because of injuries and defender Bacary Sagna, who was also impressive against QPR.

Arsenal will certainly look to avoid another result like the last one at Old Trafford when they were hammered 8-2 last season.
