Van Persie is back from a groin injury to lead the attack without Wayne Rooney, so Javier Hernandez returns to the starting XI.

Phil Jones is back from suspension to play with Tom Cleverley in midfield, with Nani and Adnan Januzaj also back in the starting team.

There is no Ryan Giggs in the matchday squad, but Danny Welbeck, Anderson and Wilfried Zaha are all on the bench.

For Newcastle, manager Alan Pardew makes one change to the side beaten by Swansea City, with Vernon Anita coming in for Shoal Ameobi.

Hatem Ben Arfa and Papiss Cisse have both been named to the bench.
