Chris Otule chipped in with 11 points, seven boards and four blocks and Trent Lockett contributed 11 rebounds in the victory for Marquette (24-8), which struggled early to hit their shots.

Nik Cochran and De’Mon Brooks both finished with 11 points with the latter also pulling down eight rebounds in the defeat.

The teams were evenly matched in their own ways throughout the contest, until Davidson took a 49-40 lead with 6:25 left.

The No. 3 Marquette found themselves in further trouble when De’Mon Brooks scored on a layup to give Davidson a five point lead with 0:41.5 left.

However, Blue and Jamil Wilson knocked down 3-pointers late to pull the scores closer before Blue sealed the win with the layup.
