(Sporting Alert) — David Villa and Fernando Torres have both start on the bench for Spain for the 2014 World Cup qualifier against France at Vicente Calderon tonight.
The strikers were the usual strike partner for the World Cup champions, but have not looked themselves in the last couple of seasons and the likes of Cesc Fabregas, David Silva and Pedro have been asked the get the goals tonight.
Barcelona pair Andres Iniesta and Xavi both start as well, with Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Arbeloa and Jordi Alba all starting in defence.
Also amongst the substitutes are Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla, who started the last game and forward Roberto Soldado.
Franck Ribery, Karim Benzema and Jeremy Menez start in the attack for France, with Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud and Manchester City full-back Gael Clichy both starting on the bench.
Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra is also a starter, with Yohan Cabaye expected to play a big role in midfield.
