AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 1 Texas volleyball team cruised past No. 16 Marquette, 25-14, 25-13, 19-25, 25-17 in the 2022 NCAA Regional Semifinal on Thursday at Gregory Gym. The following is the 2022 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship – Third Round results.

The top-ranked Longhorns (25-1) will have moved on to setup a weekend date versus No. 10 Ohio State in the 2022 NCAA Regional Final on Saturday at 5 p.m. here in Austin at Gregory Gymnasium. This will be Texas’ 16th Elite Eight appearance in the last 17 seasons. The NCAA Regional Final game against the Buckeyes will broadcast live on ESPNU and ESPN+.

Texas jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with a dominating opening two sets before Marquette pulled a setback in the third when it led almost from start to finish to cope the set 25-19 before the hosts sealed things in the fourth set after winning by seven points. Logan Eggleston had a great all-around performance with 15 kills, nine digs, four blocks, three assists and three service aces for Texas, while Asjia O’Neal led the way with eight total blocks, Saige Ka’aha’aina-Torres finished with 36 assists and Zoe Fleck ended with 14 digs.

As a team, the Longhorns finished with 15 blocks with 50 total team kills and held the Golden Eagles to just a .098 hitting percentage, while finishing with .343 hitting percentage on the day.

Outside hitter Jenna Reitsma paced Marquette with team highs of 12 kills and 11 digs. Yadhira Anchante led the way for the Golden Eagles with 30 assists, while redshirt freshman middle blocker Hattie Bray posted 10 kills in the match and hit .375 in the defeat today.
