Warriors rallied to beat LA Lakers 100-95 in Beijing

BEIJING, China (Sporting Alert) — The Golden State Warriors beat the Los Angeles Lakers 100-95 in their preseason game at MasterCard Center in Beijing, China, Tuesday.

David Lee led the way for Golden State with 31 points, six rebounds and four assists. He scored 22 of his total points in the first half.

Stephen Curry picked things up in the second half to finish with 24 points, seven assists and three steals, while Klay Thompson added 13 points for Golden State in the win.

“I thought it was a great game and the fans were incredible,” Warriors head coach Mark Jackson said. “My guys battle and we come up with a good win.”

Nick Young paced the LA Lakers with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting and head coach Mike D’Antoni was happy with his contributions.

“I think this was Nick Young’s best game so far. If he plays like that then we will be OK,” D’Antoni said.

Pau Gasol added 15 points and six boards, Xavier Henry finished with 15 points and Chris Kaman had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds in the defeat for the Lakers, who scored just 18 points in the paint.

Asked how the team was doing without the departing Dwight Howard, D’Antoni replied with a smile, ‘Who?’

The Lakers led 80-69 at the end of the third quarter.
