Chicago, IL (Sporting Alert) — Glen Rice Jr. scored 18 points off the bench to lead the Washington Wizards to an 85-81 win over the Chicago Bulls here at the United Center on Monday night.
All-star point guard Derrick Rose scored 11 points from 14 minutes of action for the Bulls, while new recruit Pau Gasol played 25 minutes in his preseason debut and finished with eight points, eight rebounds, three blocks and two assists
Marcin Gortat added a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds and Bradley Beal scored 11 points in the win for the Wizards, which outscored Chicago 38-14 on points in paint.
However, veteran Paul Pierce shot 0 for 3 from the field and finished with two points in 20 minutes, while John Wall went 1 for 7 and ended with eight points.
The Bulls were led by Nikola Mirotic, who scored 17 points, with Mike Dunleavy and Taj Gibson each scoring 10 points in the defeat.
