NEW YORK (December 3) —— Ben Simmons remains out for the Brooklyn Nets against the Boston Celtics in the featured game on the NBA schedule tonight at Barclays Center. Nick Friedell of reported that Simmons has been diagnosed with a left lateral upper calf strain that will keep him out of action for a little while. Starting tonight for the Nets (13-11) are Kyrie Irving, Joe Harris, SF Royce O’Neale, Kevin Durant, and Nicolas Claxton.

The Boston Celtics, meanwhile, lead the Eastern Conference standings but are coming off a defeat to the Miami Heat on Friday night.

Jayson Tatum and Co. have won five of the last six games overall and will be aiming to bounce back from the Miami setback with a win tonight. Marcus Smart, Danillo Gallinari, and Robert Williams are all out for Boston (18-5).
