MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Wayne Rooney starts for Manchester United in tonight’s Barclays Premier League game with Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Rooney, who has been the subject of a move away from United all summer and possibly to Chelsea, started on the bench in the season opener against Swansea City, but did came on to setup two goals for his teammates.
Manchester United manager David Moyes hinted that the England forward would be in his lineup tonight and he does start along with Danny Welbeck and Robin van Persie who both had braces against Swansea.
Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley also start as well for the champions, who have Ryan Giggs, Anderson and Shinji Kagawa amongst the substitutes.
The is still no Javier Hernandez, who continues to recover from a minor injury.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, left both Fernando Torres and Romelu Lukaku on the bench, while Demba Ba is not in the squad at all.
Juan Mata again starts on the bench, but Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Kevin De Bruyne.
