The Crimson Tide (12-1) and the Spartans (12-1) will battle in the T&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in the Cotten Bowl and the action begins at 8 p.m.

The SEC tournament champions come in as the No. 2 ranked team in the country and is favored by 10-points to win this matchup, with a place in the College Football Playoff championship on the line.

Alabama will be led by superstar running back and Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry, who is set to add to the already impressive figures he compiled during the regular season.

During the regular season, Henry set the Crimson Tide single-season records of 1,986 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns, while carrying the ball 339 times at an average of 5.9 yards per travel.

Henry heads into the matchup hoping to stay on course to become only the fifth running back to win the Heisman Trophy and a national title in the same season and according to ESPN’s Football Power Index, the Crimson Tide have a 68 percent chance to advance to the college football playoff championship game.

The have won 10 in a row since losing to Ole Miss earlier in the season.

In the meantime, Michigan State was quite impressive in the closing part of the regular season and the Big Ten champion which defeated the likes of Michigan and Ohio State against the odds,  is positive about getting the better of another favorite in Texas, on New Year’s Eve.
