(Sporting Alert) — Three players were ejected during a feisty first-half action between the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets in an NBA match on Wednesday night.
Watch Rondo, two other ejected for fighting: Celtics vs Nets
The game saw Boston Celtics star point guard Rajon Rondo, along with Brooklyn Nets Gerald Wallace and Kris Humphries all receiving marching orders.
Rondo was ejected for striking Humphries in the chest, after the Nets forward committed a hard foul on Boston’s Kevin Garnett in the closing seconds of the first half.
Humphries was also ejected from the game after he and Rondo got into a fight below the basket, while Gerald Wallace was thrown out of the game for picking up his second technical foul.
The Nets went on to beat the Celtics, 95-83.
It was an unfortunate situation for Rondo, who with the ejection, saw his 37-game streak of at least 10 assists snapped.
How silly he feels now.
It means Rondo, who only had three assists in his 18 minutes, remains tied with John Stockton for second-longest streak in NBA history, with Magic Johnson’s 46-lead the way.
