Curry’s three-pointer accomplishment was also a franchise-record, while he also added seven assists and six rebounds playing in all 48 minutes of action on the court.
His 54 points also bettered the 52-point NBA best performance that Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant had set for this season.
Curry, with that outing became the first player in NBA history to achieve at least 50 points with more than 10 3-pointers on the same night.
But it was Carmelo Anthony’s 35 points and eight assist performance that proved most effective as the Knicks held on for the win.
J.R. Smith scored 25 points off the bench, Tyson Chandler collected a career-high 28 rebounds and 16 points and Amar’e Stoudemire added 14 points in a reserve role for New York as well.
Carl Landry supported Curry with 15 points, while Jarrett Jack finished with 15 in the defeat for the Warriors.
Golden State played the game without All-Star David Lee, who missed the game because of suspension following his part in an altercation with Indiana Pacers’ Roy Hibbert on Tuesday night.
