No. 1 Gonzaga Bulldogs will look to continue their impressive start to the season when they take on No. 11 West Virginia Mountaineers in the Jimmy V Classic Presented by Corona here at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Wednesday.

Gonzaga (2-0) opened the young season, which was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, with pair of impressive wins over Kansas on Thanksgiving Day in the season opener and then cruised past Auburn 90-67 on Friday in the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off.

West Virginia (3-0), meanwhile, picked up wins against South Dakota State, VCU, and Western Kentucky at the Bad Boys Mowers Crossover Classic and will be hoping to carry over that run of form into Wednesday’s game against a Gonzaga side that is buzzing with confidence.

Drew Timme leads Gonzaga in scoring this season, averaging 26.5 points and shooting at 71.0% from the field. He is also averaging 8.0 rebounds per contest and shooting at 50.0% from 3-point range.

Corey Kispert is scoring 24 points and grabbing 5.0 rebounds, while talented freshman Jalen Suggs is averaging 18.0 points, 7.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals from the two opening games of the season for the Bulldogs.

Joel Ayayi averages 10.0 points and 8.0 rebounds heading into Wednesday’s matchup.

For West Virginia, Miles McBride is averaging 16.3 points per game, while Derek Culver is averaging a double-double of 15.0 points and 10.0 rebounds.

Sean McNeil is scoring 13.7 points and Taz Sherman is scoring 11.7 points from the three games while making 63.6% of his 3-point shots.
