The football season is now up and running. Get the latest Premier League schedule, scores and results for August 12, 2023 as 18 goals were scored on the first full say of fixtures on Saturday. The biggest winners on the Premier League schedule this weekend were Newcastle United, following a 5-1 victory at home against Aston Villa.

Saturday’s scores opened with last season’s runners-up Arsenal holding on for a narrow 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest with Bukayo Saka’s superb first-half strike the highlight of the game.

Elsewhere on the Premier League schedule, Newcastle United hammered Aston Villa 5-1 at home to remind the rest of the league that they would like to be part of the title talks this season.

In other scores, Brighton & Hove Albion easily brushed aside newly promoted Luton Town 4-1, fellow promoted side Sheffield United suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace, while Everton were beaten by a similar score by Fulham, and AFC Bournemouth earned a late 1-1 draw at home against West Ham United.

The season opener on Friday, defending champions Manchester City secured a comfortable 3-0 win over new boys Burnley.
