Pittsburgh enters this Elite Eight game feeling very confident after defeating No. 3 Florida 3-1 in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in midweek and will be aiming to extend its current success with another series win against a very good Wisconsin squad. The Badgers, in the meantme, come into this matchup with a 21-match winning streak after securing their fifth Big 10 championship in the Kelly Sheffield era this season. The team beat Quinnipiac, TCU and Penn State in the previous rounds of the tournament.
It is well noted that Wisconsin has not lost in the Field House this year, and has a 16-0 record against visitors, while the lone home loss coming in their basketball arena, the Kohl Center, against Florida.
