(Sporting Alert) — After an impressive opener, Brazil women will look to book a place into the knock out round of the women’s football competition at the London Olympics with a win over New Zealand at the Millennium Stadium today.
The Brazilians easily brushed aside Cameroon 5-0 in their opening game in Group E on Wednesday with superstar player Marta netting a second half brace in the win.
Others on the scoresheet were Cristiane, Francielle and Renata Costa and they are expected to be another handful for the New Zealand women.
The New Zealand ladies were beaten 1-0 in their group opener by Great Britain and will be hoping for a better result against the challenging Brazilian side – backed by many as the title favourites.
