Xavi, Busquets start for Spain v China: Live

(Sporting Alert) — Fernando Torres starts on the bench tonight for Spain in their EURO 2012 warm-up clash against China, but Barcelona’s Xavi returns to the starting line-up for the clash at Estadio de la Cartuja.

Torres, who is expected to start for Spain in their EURO Group C opener against Italy, started and scored in his last outing in the 4-1 win over South Korea, but will have to continue his preparation of the bench tonight.

Xavi, after a long season with Barcelona, finally joins the starters and will combine with Sergio Busquets, who also makes his first appearance in the warms and Xabi Alonso in the midfield.

David Silva and Alvaro Negredo have been trusted to lead the attack tonight as Spain boss Vicente del Bosque looks to find the right combination to make up for the injured David Villa, who is failed to recovered in time for the tournament.

Iker Casillas is in the goal for Pepe Reina, while Torres is joined on the bench by Andrés Iniesta, Cesc Fábregas, Juan Mata, Pedro and Fernando Llorente.
