(Sporting Alert)  LSU, USC and Georgia Tech are all amongst the teams in college football bowl games on Monday, with Chick-fil-A Bowl set to be the highlighted game on the schedule.

After failing to make back-to-back championship games, No. 8 LSU (10-2) will take on No. 14 Clemson (10-2) for the Chick-fil-A title.

Les Miles started the year with the national title as his ultimate goal, but after being beaten out by Alabama in the SEC race and not playing at the same level as they did last, the LSU coach is just delighted to be playing for a bowl crown

“We are excited to be here,” LSU coach Les Miles said. “Atlanta is a great place. It’s a destination for our guys.

“I know that they are looking forward to setting up shop here in Atlanta and getting prepared to play a very talented Clemson team.”

LSU will start favourites, but Miles believes his team will have to watch out for a strong Clemson offense, which is being led by All-America quarterback in Tahj Boyd, Andre Ellington, and receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins.

“Our defense will be presented with a great challenge,” Miles said. “They have an outstanding quarterback, a tremendous running back and some very good receivers.

“Our defense has really done a nice job of preparing for this game. We are going to have play well on offense and special teams so that we don’t give them the short side of the field.”

At the same time, coach Dabo Swinney expects the LSU defense to make life difficult for his Clemson team.

“Their defense is as good as it gets,” Swinney said. “Their defense is built for championships.

“Their front four is as good as any I’ve seen. They have great cover guys they can match up with you. It will be a very competitive matchup for sure.”
