NEW YORK (Sporting Alert) — The New York Red Bulls have announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Juninho.

The U.S. Major League Soccer (MLS) team made the announcement on its official website at on Monday, and added that the Vasco da Gama will officially linked up with his new side and added to the team’s roster after all the paperworks have been processed.

The includes a pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate.

“Juninho is a world class player who our Global Sporting Director, Gerard Houllier, and I have known and admired for many years,” Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh said on Monday.

“Aside from being a top dead ball specialist and a tremendous talent, Juninho is a fantastic professional both on and off the field.

“He is in great physical shape and we think he can make a positive impact for us in 2013.”

Juninho, who is a former Brazilian international, played with the national setup at the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

He is set to join the New York Bulls from Brazilian First Division side Vasco da Gama.
