The opening tee goes off at 6:32 am UK time (1:32 a.m. ET), with Peter Senior, Lloyd Saltman and Oliver Fisher getting underway. One of the expected featured groups goes off at 9:44am UK, 4:44am ET and this included Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsuyama and Phil Mickelson, who recently landed the Scottish Open title to get the perfect warm up for this contest.
Three-time Open champion Tiger Woods have been grouped with a former Open champion, Louis Oosthuizen, and Graeme McDowell.
BMW PGA Championship winner Matteo Manassero goes off at (9:23 a.m., 2:23 p.m.), playing alongside Rickie Fowler and Hunter Mahan and the Italian is looking forward to building on what he has already achieved this year.
“It was a huge result for me,” the Italian admitted. “It was almost a Major field.
“We were missing the Americans but all the Europeans were there and it gives me a lot of confidence when it comes to playing in the Majors.
“It has helped me to believe that I can be competitive in the big events.
“I didn’t know that before I won at Wentworth but now I’m almost sure I am.”
Woods has been bothered by an elbow problem in the lead up to the tournament, but the American World No.1 says he’ll be just fine.
The American start as the favourite to win the Open Championship, and said he doesn’t feel pressured to deliver his first major title in five years.
“Even though I haven’t won a Major in five years, I’ve been there in a bunch of them where I’ve had chances,” he said.
“I just need to keep putting myself there and eventually I’ll get some.
“It’s just a shot here and there. It’s not much. It’s making a key up-and-down here or getting a good bounce there – this year at Augusta was one of those examples.”
Defending champion Ernie Els is with Justin Rose and Brandt Snedeker they go off at (4:11 a.m. 9:11 a.m.).
