Striker Mario Balotelli
LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Jose Mourinho is not interested in signing AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli in the January transfer window, despite looking to sign a striker when the windows reopens.
The Chelsea FC manager is desperate to bring in a new frontman who can start scoring goals in their push to win the English Premier League title this year, but although reports are linking the former Manchester City forward to rejoin his ex-boss, Mourinho has no plans to work with the Italian again.
Balotelli, who played a part in Man City winning the Premier League title during the 2011-12 season, was a member of the Inter Milan side during Mourinho’s tenure at the Serie A club and the pair failed to get along.
According to reports, Mourinho has acknowledged that Balotelli has talents, but the 23-year-old would never fit into his project, even with the struggles of Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o in front of the goal.
Meanwhile, an angry Mino Raiola, the agent of Balotelli has also dismissed reports that the Italian international is set for an AC Milan exit.
“I have not spoken with anyone,” Raiola was quoted to Sky Italia.
“They are liars. This is low-level journalism.
“I agree with what’s been reported on the official AC Milan site regarding Balotelli not being available for transfer in January.”
