College Football Playoff Rankings

GLENDALE, Sporting Alert – Clemson and Alabama, the two best teams, at least ranking-wise, will meet on Monday night for the second edition of the College Football Playoff National title at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.

The No. 1 Tigers (14-0) enter this game on Monday night undefeated, while the No. 2 Crimson Tide (13-1) are on an 11-game winning streak.

Clemson took down Oklahoma 37-17 in their College Football Playoffs semi-final game last week to setup the clash with Alabama, while covering the +3.5-point spread as underdogs.

The Crimson Tide, in the meantime, hammered Michigan State 38-0 in their CFP semis to cover the match as 10.5-point favorites.

Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook have listed Alabama as 6.5-point the favorite against the Tigers, while the game’s total is sitting at 51.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, Alabama has a 61.9-percent chance to win with Clemson at 38.1 percent.

Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry, who has rushed for 2,061 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, will lead Alabama against what is expected to be a very strong Clemson defense.

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, who finished third in Heisman Trophy voting, heads into this battle on great form as well, having passed for 3,699 yards and 31 touchdown with a 68.2 percent pass completion.

Watson has also rushed for 12 touchdowns this season, making him a very dangerous weapon for the top-ranked side.

He will be hoping to lead Clemson to its second national championship and first since 1981.
