College Football AP Top 25 Scores Week 6: Oct. 8

DALLAS, TX, Sporting Alert – College Football AP Top 25 scores and results in Week 6 on Saturday, October 8.

No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 4 Michigan and No. 8 Texas A&M were among the AP Top 25 winners this weekend, but there were defeats for No. 6 Houston, No. 9 Tennessee and No. 17 North Carolina.

Top ranked Alabama started its difficult mid season stretch of games with a win, after cruising past No. 1 Arkansas at the Razorback Stadium.

Freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts accounted for four touchdowns and went 13 of 17 on completed passes for 253 yards to help the Crimson Tide (6-0) picked up their sixth straight victory this season with a 49-30 positive results of the Razorbacks, which saw them extended their nation-best winning streak to 18 games.

Damien Harris ran for 122 yards and ArDarius Stewart caught five passes for 120 yards for the defending College Football Playoff champions.

Minkah Fitzpatrick had three interceptions and returned one for a 100 yard touchdown in the win for Nick Saban’s side.

Austin Allen completed 25 of 48 passes for 400 yards and three touchdowns for Arkansas (4-2, 0-2), but also threw three interceptions in the defeat, as Arkansas finished with five turnovers overall.

J.T. Barrett ran for 137 yards and a score and passed for another touchdown and the Buckeyes beat Indiana 38-17 to continue their dominance over the Hoosiers.

Mike Weber ran for 71 yards and two touchdowns, Curtis Samuel ran for 82 yards and touchdown, while Dontre Wilson took a catch for a score in the victory for Ohio State (5-0), which earned a 20th straight win over Indiana (3-2).

Richard Lagow passed for 182 yards and two touchdowns with an interception for the Hoosiers in the defeat.

Mitchell Paige and Danny Friend both caught passes for scores for Indiana.

Also winning in Week 6 was No. 8 Texas A&M, but it almost gave away a 21 point lead in a thrilling double-overtime 45-38 victory over No. 9 Tennessee.

The Aggies (6-0) led 28-7 in the third quarter and were cruising toward another victory on the term.

However, the Volunteers (5-1) battled back to send the same into overtime, as they were seeking yet another electrifying comeback.

It wasn’t to be this week, though, as Trevor Knight ran home from 1-yard in the second overtime for Texas A&M to withstood another late Tennessee rally.

Knight threw for 239 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions, while running for another 110 yards and three scores for the Aggies to stay unbeaten this season.

Trayveon Williams ran for 217 yards and a score for Texas A&M in the win.

Meanwhile, Joshua Dobbs passed for 398 yards and a touchdown and Alvin Kamara carried the ball 18 times for 127 yards and two scores for Tennessee.

Alvin Kamara had 161 yards in the air with one touchdown in the defeat for the Vols, who were losing for the first time this season.

In other college football top 25 scores in Week 6, No. 25 Virginia Tech stunned the 17th ranked North Carolina, 34-3, No. 20 Oklahoma beat Texas 45-40 in the highest ever scoring Red River battle in history, while No. 6 Houston were handed a first defeat on the season, going down 46-40 Navy.
