GLASGOW (SportingAlert) — The Commonwealth Games continues on Sunday with another healthy list of competitions in Glasgow.

Day five will see the introduction of athletics, with the men’s and women’s marathon champions set to be crowned on the day at the City Marathon Course.

Kenyans are expected to dominate the men’s and women’s marathon races, with Flomena Daniel currently at 4/6 to win the women’s title. Caroline Kilel (KEN) 5/4, Helalia Johannes (NAM) 14/1, Beata Naigambo (NAM) 33/1, Hayley Haining (SCO) 33/1 and Lanni Marchant (CAN) 33/1 are also listed amongst the favourites to claim the crown on the women’s side.

On the men’s side, Kenya’s Erick Ndiema, who is the quickest in the field with a personal best of 2:06:07, is at 7/4 to win the gold medal.

The only other sub 2:10:00 runner in the starting field for Sunday’s race in Abraham Kiplimo of Uganda and he is at 8/1 to steal the gold medal in what could very well be a close contest for the male title.

Other contests on the schedule for Sunday are Boxing, Cycling, Netball, Swimming and Weightlifting.
