DETROIT (Sporting Alert) — While Aaron Rodgers was headlining the and inactive list, a very determined Detroit Lions side was busy running all over their opponents in the Thanksgiving football fixture on Thursday.
Calvin Johnson, Matthew Stafford and Reggie Bush were all impressive in Detroit’s 40-10 win over a Green Bay (5-6-1) side that could only managed to tally 126 total yards on the afternoon.
After going behind 10-3 early in the competition, the Lions forced the Packers into making several mistakes on their way to scoring 37 straight points in the comfortable victory.
The win on Thanksgiving Day saw Detroit (7-5) stopping a two game losing streak.
“It’s easy when you lose a couple games in a row, particularly the fashion that we lost, for people to say, ‘Here we go again,’ ” Detroit coach Jim Schwartz said.
“I’m sure there were some people that were saying that, but they weren’t on our sideline.”
Rodgers showed no signs of fatigue while going through a session on Sunday and he is targeting a return in ten days. Click Here For.
NOTE: The Detroit Lions’ 30-point outcome on Thursday was the team’s biggest Thanksgiving Day victory since 1997. The win was also their largest on the all-time list against the Packers in Thanksgiving football. Tight end Ryan Taylor left Thursday’s game with what seems to be a concussion.
